Horns Inn, Nursling

An Enterprise Inns pub on the outskirts of Southampton. Does standard pub meals all day at around £10 a meal, with sandwiches and jackets for around £6. Four casks. Plenty of seating inside and out. Even though the carpet is stained, there is a brighter, cleaner and more attractive feel to the Horns than the nearby Four Horseshoes. The pub has been here since at least 1871 when William Meacham was the landlord.

Four casks on offer from the Enterprise Inns range - you'll see beers from
Marston's and Fullers being offered at most Enterprise Inns pubs

The Ship, Redbridge, is run by the same people, so the menus are similar, and both have a £1 charge for using cards on purchases under £10.

Interior - subtle changes since 2016 give
the place a lighter, cleaner, more modern feel

Return visit after more than five years. Came for lunch with my big sis. Pleasant ambiance throughout, and an attractive beer garden (unfortunately with no segregation for non-smokers), with a cool, laid back feel. We noted that all the staff were female, and most of the lunch time customers were small groups of women.  Bar staff very friendly and engaging.

Similar beer range as 2016

Beer range is similar to 2016, though the pub doesn't appear to be part of  Enterprise Inns (now Stonegate Pubs) these days. Food was tasty.

The deer is no longer looking out the window - there is now a table in its place. Overall we enjoyed the place.
