This is a charming and atmospheric 16th century country pub hidden in a country lane in Hungerford in the Bursledon area on the fringes of Southampton. Service is quick, friendly and polite. Food is tasty. This is great just for a drink, quick lunch, slow romantic meal, or any special occasion. Owned by Greene King and run under the Chef and Brewer brand they acquired when they bought the Spirit Pub Company.

Popped back in for a quick lunch (rarebit toastie with triple cooked chips for £4.99) and drink (Abbott). The rarebit was wonderful. I love this place!
