Engineers Arms

    



When we first moved  to Southampton I was struck by the appearance of the Engineers Arms  on Northam Road within the shadow of St Mary's stadium. It clearly looked retro, had eye-catching lettering, a prominent corner location, and gave the distinct impression it would be a warm, welcoming, traditional pub. Sadly it wasn't open. But then I saw work being done to smarten it up a bit, and had my hopes raised it was going to reopen. Well, it did reopen, but not as a pub. It looked like offices - and I'm told the company were dental technicians of some sort.  Anyway. It wasn't a pub.  Shame, I thought, as that would be a good location for a proper pub, especially being so close to the football ground. 

And now, Markus Dov, former landlord of the Windsor Castle in Shirley, and his daughter Esmay, have taken over the premises















Message from Engineers Arms:

"Engineers Arms will be reopening within this year as Engineers Arms with a 2am late night license for food and beverages.
We will be keeping the original Engineers Arms' sign, refurbish the pub and display historical information and photos for all to enjoy." The pub op
